Road Side Safety Mirror Inauguration

Roadside Safety Mirror inauguration was conducted on July 3rd, 2018 in the presence of Commander of Police Eritrea, Director General of Ministry of Energy and Mines, representative from Ministries, Authorities, representatives from different mining companies, community as well as stakeholders and end users operating in the road.

The objective of the project is to enable Total Eritrea respond to a vital need of its stake holders and enable road user’s visibility from opposite side on curved road that will minimize road traffic accidents resulting in safe mobility. Moreover the public commercial transport drivers who are the main users of the national road bearing responsibility of passengers and commodities will have safe and secure travel.
During the ceremony, Mehari Tsegay, Commander of Police Eritrea, stated “Total has been involved in road traffic safety and environmental protection activities and this requires a standing ovation from the community and other stake holders.”  In addition, Adje Kacou articulated the main objective of Total’s Sustainable Development is to support initiatives undertaken by the Group in order to better integrate their activities into the societal context of their host communities, countries and regions, notably by contributing to human economic and social development.
The program was covered by national media with an interview about the project with Total Eritrea’s HSEQ & SD Manager, Letebrhan Ghide and was broad casted on Eritrean Television  and on Eritrean news paper “HADDAS ERITREA”.
